New Pay Recordkeeping Requirements
Ledbetter Act Increases HR Recordkeeping Burdon
There are several key issues arising from this new legislation. First, organizations must ensure that their Performance Management processes and decisions are totally objective and non-discriminatory.
There should be a compensation philosophy that grounds pay decisions in a consistent and defensible manner, and includes neutral factors such as actual, measurable job performance, or seniority, or cost-of-living adjustments. Second, recordkeeping challenges for all information that affects pay decisions will need to be kept for extensive periods of time, perhaps akin to health records on employees.
ClearSight can help. Contact Us
